Late Night Ramen (and Udon)

biwa ramenI met a guest at Biwa last week who was also lucky enough to have lived in Sapporo for a while. We got to talking about which restaurants we used to go to and naturally “what was your favorite ramen shop?” came up. Suddenly I was transported back to late nights at “Tetsuya,” my favorite ramen shop.

“Tetsuya” refers to staying up all night drinking (it literally translates to “iron night") and in Susukino, the all night entertainment district of Sapporo, ramen shops like Tetsuya dish up ramen all night long to standing room only crowds.

So the Biwa late night ramen and udon special was born.  While it isn’t Tetsuya style all night ramen- yet- we are dishing up our handmade ramen and udon for $5 every night from 9:PM until closing (and we’ve added a full bar recently so keep an eye out for expanded hours soon, too)
